Steve Oliver

2024 President

It is my honour to be the President of the Bobcaygeon Fall Fair for the 166th consecutive edition. I was introduced to the annual fall fair at an early age by my parents (Neil & Florence Oliver). We never missed a fall fair and both Mom and Dad participated in many facets of the fair (showing cattle, sheep, crops, preserves, baking, produce and of course the parade). My four siblings and I showed calves in the 4H and through Junior Farmers we often had a roll to play in the fair.

The fair does not come together as a result of one person's efforts. It is a team event, with many volunteers playing a variety of rolls. We have many committees that work year to year to make sure each event comes off as seamlessly as possible. I know some events have already been booked for the 2025 fair. We have to work that far in advance to bring a successful fair.

Many hands make light work and we have some fun at the same time. New volunteers are welcome and encouraged. It is our goal this year to make a few changes to our shows. We have reinvented the Ambassador Program to be more of a Leadership Program and welcome those that would like to represent Bobcaygeon. We are also providing more entertainment on Friday. We have also enhanced our prize purse. All of this to provide a well rounded show and entice new exhibitors as well as previous exhibitors to participate.

I would like to thank all the volunteers for their hard work to produce this exhibition, and to all the exhibitors for bringing your passion to the fair. Thank you to the many sponsors that have supported us over the years to help bring this event to life. I would be remiss if I didn't also thank the people that come to the fair and enjoy the many displays, exhibits, competitions, or even the candy floss, and renew friendships in the community.

Welcome to the 166th edition of the "Daddy of 'Em All".
